Partnership Overview
In 2009, BSD increased our partnerships with after school providers to introduce Burlington Kids - a joint program between the school district and the city of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department offered in several of our elementary schools. We also partner with the Sara Holbrook Community Center and the Boys and Girls Club. For a daily fee, we offer child care combined with our enrichment offerings at each elementary school until 5:30.
Burlington Kids offers Burlington Youth enrichment and recreation opportunities alongside academic support in a safe, supportive environment that meets families' afterschool needs. To learn more about the programs offered at each site, click on the hyperlinks to the right.
For nearly ten years, Burlington schools have offered enrichment and recreation programs in all elementary schools. In recent years, parents have expressed the need for these programs to be offered on a more consistent schedule to help with childcare needs during after-school hours. We have begun implementing changes to better meet this need. Our ultimate goal is to develop sustainable after-school programs that will serve our students for years to come. If you are a parent elementary school child, you may be eligible for childcare subsidy. Click here to fill out the Childcare Subsidy Application form (link will open in a new window). Families who do not qualify for state childcare subsidy may qualify for our sliding scale fee structure. Contact the Site Coordinator at your school to request a Sliding Scale Fee Application Form.
