Burlington Fire Department seeks information on Feb. 6 fire at BHS

At approximately 10:20 on Feb. 6, a student discovered smoke in a bathroom. The school was evacuated as a staff member entered the room and put the fire out with a portable extinguisher.
The fire damage was limited to the immediate area of origin, but the smoke caused extensive damage the bathroom and the hallway outside. Damage is estimated at $15,000.

The Burlington Fire Marshal's Office and the Burlington Police Department are investigating the incident. Anyone with any information about this fire is asked to contact Corporal Jason Lawson at 658-2704 extension 145, or call the Vermont Arson Tip Line at 1-800-32-ARSON.
