Burlington School District ranked among the nation's top third
by national magazine that ranks the quality of communities

The Burlington School District has been ranked among the top third of 2,800 school districts in the nation based by a national magazine that compares communities' work forces.

Expansion Management magazine looked at all secondary school districts with an enrollment of at least 3,300 students.

For the past 15 years, the magazine has used an "education quotient" to compare schools. The quotient is based on three categories that are calculated on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 99. :

Graduate outcome: How well students learn and how many stay to graduate.
Resource index: Which measures a community's financial commitment to education.
Community index: Which measures the community's adult education and income levels.

Expansion Management is mailed to 45,000 CEOs, vice presidents, directors and other officers of companies who have indicated they are considering expanding into new geographic areas.
