DeJONG LOCKER to Develop Master Plan

DeJONG.LOCKER was selected by the Burlington School Board Finance Committee to develop the Excellence & Equity Master Plan. DeJONG LOCKER was chosen to lead this process because of their unique combination of educational and facilities planning expertise, community engagement experience, and depth of understanding of the work completed to date.

DeJONG LOCKER was chosen to lead this process because of their unique combination of educational and facilities planning expertise, community engagement experience, and depth of understanding of the work completed to date. Finance Committee Chair Fred Lane expressed confidence that DeJONG LOCKER would "move us forward to a district-wide vision of excellence that is both community-based and grounded in our financial reality."
DeJONG LOCKER is based in the greater Boston area. Practice areas include Visioning, Educational Program Development, Educational Specifications, District Master Planning, and collaborative Concept Design. Projects in 2007 were in England, Cayman Islands, Alaska, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Frank Locker PhD, AIA, REFP will lead the project. Formerly a resident of Burlington, Frank was honored as Planner of the Year, the top individual award of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International (CEFPI). He has co-taught the school design course at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and regularly speaks and runs workshops at national and regional school planning conferences. Frank recently led projects for the South Burlington School District, the Lakeview School District in Michigan and the Middletown, RI School District.
Superintendent Jeanné Collins is pleased to be partnering with DeJONG LOCKER to continue to "facilitate a dynamic community process overlaid with the analytical and planning tools we need to move toward implementation."
