Citizen's Advisory Group Reviews Budget

The newly formed Schools' Budget Advisory Committee will kick off Thursday, May 21st at 5:30. This group will take a critical look at the school district budget and provide input as we move forward with planning for next year. The meeting will take place at the district offices, 150 Colchester Avenue. The purpose of this budget advisory task force is to learn about the complexities of the school budget and bring fresh eyes and new questions to the process, in a way that will help the school administration and board look at our budget in new ways.

The agenda is designed to start with an overview of VT educational funding, our operational budget, and what it pays for. Committee member questions will guide the next two meetings. The final meeting will lead to some recommendations for the Board to review as we continue to delve into the FY 11 budget this summer.
