    Our school board worked with Chittenden County regional superintendents to modify the school calendar due to higher rates of absences on the high holy days of two of our cultures. This will not change the number of days in the school year. Our goal is to have good attendance and a consistent education flow. This year, the regional superintendents agreed to a non-school day to coincide with Eid al-Fitr, a day a large number of our students and staff observe. They also agreed, looking forward, to accommodate Yom Kippur. In 2010 Yom Kippur is on a Saturday and does not affect the schools.

    SCHOOL CLOSINGS

    All school closings or delayed opening are called into local radio and TV stations, and available from Sover.net. To look up our school district on the Sover.net site,click here.Sovernet School Closing Information

    The calendar/handbook is sent home at the beginning of the school year and is available in school offices. The handbook includes all school policies as well as information on parent involvement, state testing, immunizations, attendance and school lunch programs.

    SCHOOL SCHEDULE

    School start and dismissal times are:

    • Elementary Schools: 8:10 - 2:30
    • Edmunds Middle School: 8:00 - 3:00
    • Hunt Middle School 6th Grade: 7:50 - 2:40
    • Hunt Middle School 7-8 Grade: 7:55 - 2:45.
    • Burlington High School:  8:00 - 2:55.
