Professional Development
The Burlington School District’s 2007-2008 Professional Development Plan will continue to focus on the following areas:
- Vermont Standards and Grade Expectations in all content areas.
- Understanding by Design- the framework for Curriculum Design.
- Assessment and Effective Instructional Strategies.
- Integration of technology into the Curriculum/Instruction.
- Differentiated Instruction/ Response to Instruction (RTI).
- Data Driven Decision Making.
- Building and Increasing Teacher Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy.
- Support for Creating and Sustaining Professional Learning Communities.
- Effective instructional strategies for English Language Learners.
