Join Education Commissioner Armando Vilaseca, Superintendent Jeanne Collins, and our students, staff, and community partners on September 24th to celebrate Vermont's first magnet schools: the Integrated Arts Academy and the Sustainability Academy. Meet us at 9:15 at the top of Church Street to join in the the parade and join us for a short program including student performances at the Flynn Theater at 10am. Application for Magnets

Our first magnet registration process has been a success! We had 85 applicants for the Sustainability Academy at Barnes and the Integrated Arts Academy at HO Wheeler, and more continue to come in. Our first round of enrollment decisions have been made, and families have been notified.
Over a hundred interested families attended information sessions and open houses in March. Teams at each schools are working with community partners and parents, to prepare and plan together.
Our magnet registration process closed on March 13th. We have a few spots available in a few grades, so if you are interested, you may still apply for entry or for our waitlists.
The applications were reviewed according to the following criteria:
If you are interested in a magnet school, please review the instructions and complete the magnet application, student registration form, and, if applicable, the application for free and reduced price meals.
