Programs:
Essential Early Education: early intervention services for
children birth to 5 years of age with disabilities/
developmental delays, provided at no cost to eligible children
in homes, community preschool and child care settings, as well
as school classroom at the Ira Allen Administration Center.
Title I Preschool: early childhood program for children 3-5
years of age living in the Lawrence Barnes and H 0 Wheeler
neighborhoods.
Other Services:
Screening: a brief assessment of a child's development
which helps identify children who may need further
evaluation and may be eligible for early education
services; screening is done on an individual basis
in the child's home or child care/preschool
setting; screening is also done on a city-wide
basis each spring at the Burlington elementary
schools.
Early Childhood Connection of Chittenden County:
A "grass roots" Success by Six community group
(made up of parents of preschool children, early
educators, and other services providers who work
with families) whose goal is to enhance the ability
of ALL families to protect, nurture, educate and
support the development of their children to help
them enter school ready to be active and successful
