"Splash"

Diving in, feeling the silky smooth water flow over me makes me feel free.  Feeling the sand gently brush my pruning fingertips makes me happy.   All of the little minnows scatter when I splash into the water.  The waves look as blue as the sky above my head. The gentle foam of a breaking wave washes over my toes.  Seeing the bubbles rise up from my nose makes me laugh under water.  I hear another person splash into the lake.  I come up for a tiny breath and feel the foam of a breaking wave.  I feel a string of seaweed wrap around my finger.  As the wind picks up, I  can feel the biggest wave of the day slip over me and smash against the seawall.  I start to make my way back out and feel a wave push me backward toward the seawall.

  "Getting Ready"

I can feel the treaded earth under my cleats that are tightly laced around my small feet.  The soft fabric of my shorts makes me remember the good games I had, and some of the bad ones. I wipe my sweaty hand on my shorts.  The goalie gloves make my hands sweaty and shaky.  I feel a nice warm but chilling breeze sweep through my ponytail.  The goalie jersey makes me very hot, and it makes me nervous, but in a good way.  I hear the squeal of the referee's whistle and I hear the solid "Thwack!" sound of someone kicking the ball at the goal.  I lean to the side and snag the ball from the air.  I feel the impact as the red and white ball hits my hand.  The other players say way to go!  I'm finally ready to play soccer.
