MEET INFORMATION

5000 Meter and Mile Master races info (Must be 18 years or older to enter - high school students can not participate in these events)

- 2 events 100 m Dash 9 grade only- non scoring event, 1500 m Run 9 grade only - non scoring event.
Coaches please download a new event file for your Hy-Tek TM (see below) and make sure you enter right athletes into 9th grade events!!!
Only 9th grade athletes may enter and participate in 9 grade events (see qualifying standards for these events).

Top 6 athletes (relays) in every event will receive individual awards.

Burlington HS will provide and all competitors must use Gill Fusion 1 starting blocks when needed.

Tape is not allowed on the track and runways!!!

In Relays run in lanes, a flat rubber marker or 1/2 tennis ball will be used as the only mark to aide outgoing runner to time their start. The host school will provide markers.

In field events athletes may provide their own markers. The host school will provide 1/2 tennis balls. Markers must be placed outside of runways. There is a limit of maximum 2 markers per competitor.

 

1. Scoring

Top 8 places, maximum 2 scores per team per event. All 3 athletes from one school will advance to final(s) and will receive individual awards. Girls and boys team combine score only.

2. School bus parking

Drop off at Burlington HS only. Buses must park at Leddy Park parking lot.

3. School tents

On the hill along the cemetery fence only.

4. Implements weigh-ins

Weigh-ins will be required for shot put, discus and javelin between 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM before the meet on Saturday. Only checked and marked equipment will be permitted in competition and in warm-up throws.

5. Coaches Meeting

9:00 AM in the infield, every school must be represented.

6. Competitor Hip Numbers

Hip numbers must be worn on the left and right hip, centered, shirt must be tucked in.

7. Starting Heights (second warm up max. 15 min long before height in bold).

Unless seven or less athletes remain in the competition, the bar will be raised when all present athletes cleared, passed or failed to clear the height. Excused, not present athletes participating in other events will be passed to the next height.

The head judge may change the order of competition to accomodate those who may be excused to participate in other events.

Girls HJ 4-00", 4-03", 4-06", 4-08", 4-10", 5-00", 5-02" than by 0-01"

Boys HJ 5-02", 5-05", 5-08", 5-10", 6-00", 6-02", 6-04" than by 0-01"

Girls PV 6-04", 7-01", 7-08", 8-02", 8-08", 9-02" than by 0-06"

Boys PV 8-04", 9-01", 9-08", 10-02", 10-08", 11-02" than by 0-06"

8. Warm Up Between Flights, LJ and TJ Boards Distance to a pit

One throw / jump between flights.

Second warm up (max. 15 min long only for athletes who did not entered a competition) before bolted heights in vertical jumps and last 2 flights of horizontal jumps and throws (except Shot Put if 2 circles are used)..

Two (2) Shot Put circles may be used.

Long Jump Girls 8'0" Boys 12'0", Triple Jump Girls 24'0" and 28'0" Boys 32'0" and 38'0".

9. Spikes

Running and jumping events maximum 1/8 exposed". 3/16 in HJ - in the rain only!

10. Advancement to Finals

Trials of 100m, 200m, 100mH and 110mH: First Place + Time. 1 final.
Field events - 9 finalists

11. Food, Meet Programs and T-shirts

will be sold

12. Admission Charge

$4.00 adults and $2.00 students

13. Awards

*Combine boys and girls teams plaque to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd team
*Individual trophy to the outstanding track female and male athlete and outstanding field female and male athlete
*Ian Carroll and Pavel Dvorak Spirit Award - awards criteria
* Custom design Dog Tags for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th place presented during award ceremony.

ENTRY INFORMATION

All schools are invited. Please see entry limits below.

1. Entry Deadline

All schools (with exception bellow) 11:59 PM (midnight), Tuesday, May 3, 2011 email to email address

Only schools having meet on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, 11:59 PM (midnight), Wednesday, May 4, 2011

All entries according to the VPA TF Rules Book. There will be a late entry fee fine $25.00 per athlete paid to the hosting school before the meet for every competitor/relay/event who must be added to the DB.

2. Entry Fee (please read entry fee not participation fee - school must pay per athletes entered)

$ 100.00 per team (please read team not school) or $10.00 per individual. Checks made out to BURLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL. Please mail checks in advance to Pavel Dvorak, Burlington HS, 52 Institute Rd., Burlington, VT 05401. School must pay prior to participation.

Late entries after above deadlines 11:59 PM (midnight), $140.00 (team) or $25.00(individual)

No Team Entries after Wednesday week of the meet.

There is a 9th Grade Division events only (100 m Dash and 1500 m Run). Meet qualifying standards are included in this download.Make sure you check Enforce Qualifying Marks window and enter Max Combined Entries per Athlete – 4 in Meet Maintenance window (Meets / Double click in Burlington HS TF Inv.) in your Hy-Tek TM software.

5. Qualifying Standards (Click here)/ School Entry Limits

All entered athletes to the Burlington TF Invitational may enter the meet only if their performance is equal or better than posted qualifying standards.

Qualifying standards must be achieved this outdoor season.

Athlete must qualify in every event he/she is entering.

Times, heights, distances must be listed. Hand held times must be rounded up to the next slower tenth of the second and correctly recorded in TM (example 22.6h). Only FAT times may be recorded with 1/100 sec.

Every athlete may enter maximum of four (4) events including relays.

One school may enter maximum of three (3) athletes in one even (with exception of 9th grade events) provided they meet qualifying standards where required. An additional extra entries in one event per school will be scratched based on the lowest seed than athlete's lower grade.

9. V.P.A. POLE VAULTER’S WEIGHT CERTIFICATION FORM.

Copies of this form should be available at the competition site for comparison with the manufacturer’s pole rating of the pole(s) used by each vaulter during that competition.

10. SCRATCHES

Scratch email before Friday please. On the race day before 8:30 AM.

Please submit your scratches ASAP for accurate meet programs, flights in field events.

To assure high quality meet all running events will be re-seeded if any scratches.
