Munis Freezes Attachments


This article is about what to do in the case you're working with Munis, and attempting to view attachments.


Under certain circumstances, when one tries to open an attachment associated with some element of Munis, the internet explorer window will hang.  There are two workarounds to this.


The first would be to right click on Internet Explorer on the desktop and select Run As Administrator.  This would have to be performed every time it is needed to open Munis.

The second does require a little interaction, but once completed there should no longer be any issues.  This article will cover the second principle.


Step 1:

  • Open Internet Explorer.

Step 2:

  • Verify Version.
    • Select the Cog/Gear icon under the close button of Internet Explorer, or choose the Help Menu item.
      • Menu Bar
    • Select About Internet Explorer
      • AboutDialogue
      • If it does not say Internet Explorer 11, goto R:\Internet Explorer 11\
      • Double click the EXE file in the folder, and confirm actions.
      • Reboot system as needed.

Step 3:

  • Add http://munisma, http://muniscm,, to the IE Trusted Local Intranet sites.
    • Select Cog/Gear icon under the close button of Internet Explorer, or choose Tools
      • Tools_Menubar
    • Select Internet Options
      • Tools_Menu
    • Click the Security Tab in the dialogue box.
      • IEOptionsBox
    • Choose Local Intranet in the "Select a zone to view or change security settings" area.
      • SecTabSelected
    • Click the Sites button that is now available.
      • SitesButton
    • Select Advanced button.
      • intranetAdvanced
    • Type the address, one at a time, in the "Add this website to the zone:" field and click add.
      • Advanced->Add
    • Once all entered, click close.
      • SitesAdded
    • Click OK.
    • Click OK.
    • Close Internet Explorer.
    • Reopen and test.
