Changing Your Password in Gmail

If you are a new Gmail user @bsdvt.org, you should automatically get prompted to change your password upon first login.  Your password must be at least 8 characters in length and be considered good or strong to be accepted.  Longer, alphanumeric passwords and those with special characters are the strongest of passwords.  

If you are not prompted to change your Gmail password, please follow these steps to change your default password to something of your choosing:

1. Log in to Gmail.
2. Click on BSD Email in the top right hand corner.
3. Choose Manage Your Google Account
4. Choose Security from the left side menu.
5. Find the section titled "How you sign in to Google" and choose Password.
6. You may be asked to enter your current password.
7. Enter a new, strong password and confirm it.
